Patriots give Gostowski extension
The New England Patriots have rewarded kicker Stephen Gostkowski with a four-year contract extension worth $14 million.
That’s a really nice chump of change for a guy who just has to run out on the field and kick the ball a few times per game.
Gostkowski took over as kicker for veteran star Adam Vinatieri, who left to sign a big contract with the Colts a few years ago.
There was concern that Gostkowski couldn’t possibly match Vinatieri in kicking ability and making clutch field goals.
He may not have a Super Bowl winner to his name, but he has made New England fans forget all about Vinatieri.
