Patriots knocked off by Steelers, 25-17
The New England Patriots fell behind early and never held a lead in a 25-17 loss to the host Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Patriots couldn’t even muster 250 total yards of offense against a Pittsburgh defense that has suddenly come to life in the past few weeks.
Quarterback Tom Brady looked confused for much of the afternoon and he didn’t get much help from his running game.
The Steelers decided to play a man scheme rather than drop back in a zone, and the Patriots receivers couldn’t seem to get open before Brady felt the heat in the pocket.
The Patriots defense didn’t seem to have an answer for Pittsburgh’s decision to abandon the ground game and take to the air.
