The Patriots couldn’t even muster 250 total yards of offense against a Pittsburgh defense that has suddenly come to life in the past few weeks.

Quarterback Tom Brady looked confused for much of the afternoon and he didn’t get much help from his running game.

The Steelers decided to play a man scheme rather than drop back in a zone, and the Patriots receivers couldn’t seem to get open before Brady felt the heat in the pocket.

The Patriots defense didn’t seem to have an answer for Pittsburgh’s decision to abandon the ground game and take to the air.

Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to a 38-24 win over the Miami Dolphins last night, breaking records along the way.

Brady’s 517 total passing yards broke the record for the most in a single game. Among the yards passed was the shorty he threw to Wes Welker, who sprinted 99 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, a play that tied the record for the longest scoring pass in league history. You could practically hear the former Dolphin laughing all the way to the endzone.

Despite the team’s brilliant display, Brady was very low key about their stunning performance, remarking more about the weather than the win, ““It was hot. It’s still hot. But we tried to play at a fast tempo and take advantage of some of the opportunities we got when they weren’t ready to go. I thought we did a decent job.”

Miami quarterback Chad Henne did do a more than decent job, putting up his own 416-yard effort, but there were too many forces against him besides the muggy temps. The Dolphins lost two of their starting cornerbacks, Vontae Davis and Sean Smith, thanks to the heat in the second half, leaving the second string struggling. Their running game was nonexistent without a decent fullback.

Any buzz about Tom Brady getting old may have been temporarily silenced after last night, but the season is just getting started. However, if the Pats keep putting up these kinds of stats, woe unto their foes.

Defensive tackle Marcus Stroud was recently cut by the Buffalo Bills, but it didn’t take him long to find a new home.

Stroud signed a two-year contract with the New England Patriots, hoping he can win a Super Bowl before he retires.

The 32-year old will give New England more size on the interior, which should help against the physical running games they face in the AFC.

The defensive tackle simply didn’t fit in well with the Bills, but his best days are certainly behind him.

Stroud used to be a force alongside John Henderson when the two played for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will undergo surgery on his injured right foot, addressing a lingering issue.

A screw may have to be inserted during the procedure, but Brady is hopeful he will be healthy for the start of training camp.

He played much of the season with a stress fracture in his foot but said it was not something that really bothered him.

Because of the injury, Brady has pulled out of the Pro Bowl and will be ironically replaced by Matt Cassel.

The quarterback suffered a shoulder injury in the loss to the Jets, but said that he won’t need any other surgeries in the offseason.

Quarterback Tom Brady had a very quiet game but did finish with over 150 yards passing and two touchdowns.

The win moved the Patriots that much closer to clinching the AFC East and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

Mankins was not happy with the team’s tender offer and wanted to be rewarded with a long-term contract.

He sat out until now to voice his displeasure with the Patriots and to try and force their hand on a new deal or a trade.

He couldn’t get either to happen, so he is now reporting to the Patriots having lost out on more than a million dollars.

The guard knew he had to report eventually to avoid losing a year toward his free agency eligibility.

The wideout believes that a lot of people with the Patriots don’t want to see him succeed for some reason.
