St Louis Rams vs New England Patriots
NEWS
The New England Patriots fell behind early and never held a lead in a 25-17 loss to the host Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Patriots couldn’t even muster 250 total yards of offense against a Pittsburgh defense that has suddenly come to life in the past few weeks.
Quarterback Tom Brady looked confused for much of the afternoon and he didn’t get much help from his running game.
The Steelers decided to play a man scheme rather than drop back in a zone, and the Patriots receivers couldn’t seem to get open before Brady felt the heat in the pocket. ( Read More…)

The New England Patriots put together another phenomenal offensive performance to hold off the San Diego Chargers, 35-21.
Tom Brady had another terrific day, once again topping the 400-yard mark and tossing four touchdown passes.
Rob Gronkowski hauled in two touchdown passes and Aaron Hernandez caught another as the tight ends continued to dominate.
The Patriots defense bent but didn’t break for the most part, causing turnovers at pivotal moments. ( Read More…)

Defensive tackle Marcus Stroud was recently cut by the Buffalo Bills, but it didn’t take him long to find a new home.
Stroud signed a two-year contract with the New England Patriots, hoping he can win a Super Bowl before he retires.
The 32-year old will give New England more size on the interior, which should help against the physical running games they face in the AFC.
The defensive tackle simply didn’t fit in well with the Bills, but his best days are certainly behind him. ( Read More…)

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will undergo surgery on his injured right foot, addressing a lingering issue.
A screw may have to be inserted during the procedure, but Brady is hopeful he will be healthy for the start of training camp.
He played much of the season with a stress fracture in his foot but said it was not something that really bothered him.
Because of the injury, Brady has pulled out of the Pro Bowl and will be ironically replaced by Matt Cassel. ( Read More…)

The New England Patriots rallied from behind for a 31-27 win over the visiting Green Bay Packers.
The Patriots were expected to have their way with the Packers with Aaron Rodgers sitting out with a concussion.
Instead, backup Matt Flynn took them by surprise and made plays to give them a lead at halftime.
Quarterback Tom Brady had a very quiet game but did finish with over 150 yards passing and two touchdowns. ( Read More…)

The New England Patriots have signed kicker Shayne Graham after Stephen Gostkowski was injured in Cleveland.
Things got so desperate that the Patriots were forced to use wideout Wes Welker on an extra point attempt.
Graham had a number of great years with the Cincinnati Bengals before choking in last year’s playoffs.
The team allowed Graham to become a free agent, and he signed with Baltimore and competed with Billy Cundiff for the kicking job. ( Read More…)

New England Patriots guard Logan Mankins has ended his season-long holdout and reported to the team.
Mankins was not happy with the team’s tender offer and wanted to be rewarded with a long-term contract.
He sat out until now to voice his displeasure with the Patriots and to try and force their hand on a new deal or a trade.
He couldn’t get either to happen, so he is now reporting to the Patriots having lost out on more than a million dollars. ( Read More…)

The New England Patriots have traded a late-round draft pick for Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Deion Branch.
Branch was traded from New England to Seattle back in 2006 for a first-round draft pick because they couldn’t reach a contract agreement.
While with the Seahawks, Branch has been almost a complete non-factor while battling a number of injuries.
He is healthy again this year and has made some plays, but doesn’t figure into the team’s future plans. ( Read More…)

New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss made it known that he is not happy with his contract situation.
Moss, usually reserved with the media, took to the podium following their win over Cincinnati and talked about how he feels the team is treating him.
The wideout believes that a lot of people with the Patriots don’t want to see him succeed for some reason.
He went on to say that he understands it is a business but that he has given 110 percent during his time with the Patriots. ( Read More…)

The New England Patriots have rewarded kicker Stephen Gostkowski with a four-year contract extension worth $14 million.
That’s a really nice chump of change for a guy who just has to run out on the field and kick the ball a few times per game.
Gostkowski took over as kicker for veteran star Adam Vinatieri, who left to sign a big contract with the Colts a few years ago.
There was concern that Gostkowski couldn’t possibly match Vinatieri in kicking ability and making clutch field goals. ( Read More…)
